DHL Break Bulk Express, booked from Sage 200

The Tilted Carriers DHL add-on books DHL Express and DHL Parcel UK shipments from your Sage 200 despatches. One part of it deserves more attention than it gets: DHL Break Bulk Express, or BBX.

BBX suits businesses that send many parcels to customers in another country. Instead of each parcel travelling as its own export, they travel together as one consolidated shipment to a DHL hub, where they are broken down and delivered individually.

In Sage 200 it works like this. Each despatch is booked as a child shipment on an open BBX session, against the pallet you are loading, and gets its own label as usual. When the pallets are ready, completing the session books the parent shipment with DHL: one piece per pallet, with the weights and contents of every parcel on it totalled for you, going to DHL's break-bulk hub and cleared under your UK VAT and EORI numbers. Sessions, pallets and child shipments are all listed in Sage, and pallets can be added and switched as you load.
