Dunelm orders: a connection that tries again

Tilted Channels connects Sage 200 to Dunelm's supplier system, downloading orders as Sage sales orders and sending despatch confirmations back. Like every Channels connection, it runs on a schedule you set, often unattended overnight or through the working day.

Any connection to an outside system will occasionally meet a brief network fault or a busy server. When that happened, the step would stop and report an error, even though the same request would have worked a few seconds later. This month the Dunelm connection learned to try again: a failed request is retried automatically before it is treated as an error.

That means fewer failed jobs to investigate and fewer orders left waiting for the next scheduled run. Genuine problems still surface in the usual way, with the error shown in Channels and emailed to the people you choose.

Resilience like this rarely makes headlines, but it is what makes a scheduled integration something you can leave to run. Talk to us about connecting Sage 200 to your retail partners.
